Data Protection Principles

FYP respects the processing of personal data in the electronic communication sector, the free movement of such data, as well as electronic communication equipment and services to ensure an equivalent protection level of your right to privacy and confidentiality. Therefore, personal data will only be processed according to the data protection regulations, in particular with the General Data Protection regulation (GDPR). This regulation is complemented by the BDSG (the new Federal German Data protection law) in Germany.

Additionally, the user conditions are consistent with the German Telemedia Act. FYP is not entitled to further use and/or a disclosure to any unauthorized person of your personal data. The administrator has got no access to your saved personal data.

Websites

On visiting a VBL web-page, the data for this action will be stored on a log file. This data cannot be traced to a particular person by VBL. Therefore VBL cannot ascertain which user has accessed which page and content. Basically the following data is stored: client’s IP-address, operating system, browser, time of access, visited pages, access error. The data stored is exclusively used for data security and customized development of the websites. It will not be transferred to third parties, neither for commercial nor noncommercial
purposes. For technical reasons cookies may be used to control the connection. In that case the cookies will be deleted when leaving the website. There is no further use or reporting of cookies.

Information service and advice regarding using E-mail

If you want to use our information service and send us an E-mail, your personal data (E-mail address) will automatically be transferred according to the configuration of your E-mail program. VBL uses your E-m0ail address as well as further personal data, which is contained in the E-mail, exclusively for the information service. It will not be transferred to third parties. Please note that currently the confidentiality of information on the Internet is not guaranteed without further measures (e.g. encoding) when using E-mail. The content which is sent with an E-mail that is not encoded should be no more confidential than the content of a post card. Messages with valuable content should be sent by post to protect them and avoid a third party gaining access to their content.

Data Protection Principles My Dashboard

The terms of data protection principles describe your rights and responsibilities, besides stating the terms and conditions under which you may use this Personal Section. Please take your time to read the document carefully. The terms “you” and “your” as used herein refers to the person interested in the Personal Section.

1. General considerations.

FYP respects the processing of personal data in the electronic communication sector, as well as electronic communication equipment and services to ensure an appropriate protection level of your right to privacy and confidentiality. Therefore, personal data will only be processed according to the data protection regulations, in particular with the General Data Protection regulation (GDPR), (Link: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj).

The German Federal Data Protection Act as well as the German Telemedia Act (BDSG/Link: www.gesetze-im-internet.de/bdsg_2018/) supplements and specifies the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) at the places that are left to national regulations of the EU Member States.

2. My Dashboard 

My Dashboard will enable you to use additional functions. The My Dashboard functionality aims to support you in keeping track of your individual pension.

However, the additional functions will only be available through registration either via PIN or via the entry of your name (first and last name) your email address, the date of birth, the country of birth, place of birth. 

The features available on My Dashboard differ depending on the LOGIN mechanism which is used.

a. Content for approval.

You agree that FYP collects, processes and uses your personal data only if permitted or prescribed by  the data protection regulations, in particular with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), (Link: https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj),  the German Federal Data Protection Act or any other legal provision or if the data subject has consented. FYP is not entitled to further use and/or a disclosure to any unauthorized person of your personal data. By using the service provided by FYP you consent in using the personal data for the purpose described above.  

Access to my Dashboard via PIN

In case you decide to register via anonymously generated PIN, data will be processed via the server of the hosting provider Sigedis. 

However the entire process, including logging in, takes place exclusively on the basis of this pin, so that only systemically relevant personal data is collected and processed.  

Access to My Dashboard via the entry of specific personal data

The registration via the entry of specific personal data enables you to create your own profile on my Dashboard.

The following data is obligatory 

  • Your name (first and last name) 
  • Your email address

Please note:    

Via the so called pension tracker you will be connected with pension tracking facilities of countries you may have worked in and will be able to compile those data in one overview. Soon the Pension Tracker will be available for Belgium. Until additional countries are available you are welcome to provide the following data (date of birth, country of birth, place of birth) voluntarily or even use a dummy.

Data processing by the hoster Sigedis 

The following data is processed by the hoster Sigedis, no matter which LOGIN mechanism is used:  

  • browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • referrer URL
  • Host name of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address 

Use of E –Mail address 

Your email address is exclusively used for the Newsletter registration and for the My Profile functionality as well as for sending service mails. Service emails are of such a nature that will inform you about updates and new available features on the Personal Section. Therefore, such emails do not qualify as advertising.

Therefore, such emails do not qualify as advertising. Entering, saving and uploading of your personal data is voluntary. According to applicable law, all your personal data are exclusively collected, processed and used for the purpose of the My Dashboard functionality.

b. Saving and deletion of your data.

You are entitled to terminate the usage agreement by deleting your account at any time without giving reasons. The moment you chose to delete your FYP account, FYP will also delete your personal data at its centre.

c. Rights of the persons affected.

According to the applicable German data Protection law, you are entitled to obtain information concerning your saved personal data on request (Art. 15 DS- GVO and §34 BDSG) and also to rectify inaccurate data. (Art. 16 DS-GVO). As long as the legal conditions are met, you are entitled to limit the data-storage (Art. 18 DS-GVO) or delete this data-storage (Art 17. DS-GVO and § 35 BDSG) and to disagree with the processing of your personal data (Art. 21 DS-GVO and § 36 BDSG). Furthermore, you have the right of data-portability (art. 20 DS-GVO).

d. Amendments to the data protection principles

FYP will inform you promptly, at the latest after 28 days, via the given email address about any amendments to the present data protection principles. Every amendment will be content of the user’s agreement.

e. Security System.

Security System

The content and the transfer of data on the website are protected by the SSL/TLS connection. Transport Layer Security (TLS) and its predecessor, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) are cryptographic protocols designed to enable a secure communications system by transmitting documents and data via the Internet.

Safety information

In case of necessary safety information which may affect personal data or any changes for these user conditions above FYP will inform you promptly.

f. Cookie Policy

g. End of the service.

Should FindyourPension not be able to provide its services any longer or should the ownership of FindyourPension change, you will receive an information email. In the first mentioned case you have time to check your saved data for 6 weeks, after receiving the information email. Afterwards the service will go offline and your data will be deleted. In the second mentioned case the new/further owner can continue the service, as well as electronic communication equipment and services to ensure an equivalent protection level of your right to privacy and confidentiality in the same way as FYP does. However, it is up to you to decide if you agree to the changed legal relationship or not.
